Since its inception in 2008, Tom Gunn has become one of the most sought after Australian women’s footwear label loved for its use of luscious leathers, contrasting skins in delicious colours.

Finally launching in Melbourne Thursday night, we caught up with the talented duo behind the eponymous label, Gabrielle Thompson and Shannon Gunn, over champagne among an intimate guestlist of the lovers of the label.

The concept behind Tom Gunn stemmed from a noticeable void in exclusive, high quality and hand made womens footwear. After studying at the Ars Arpel School in Milan, the pair took a stand against mass-produced and disposable fashion footwear to launch Tom Gunn – and what an amazing journey it’s been for them ever since.

Unique, sophisticated, edgy and ever-evolving, Tom Gunn continues to satisfy the shoe fetish of women all over. Collaborating with the likes of renowned fashion designer Gary Bigeni and SABA, with regular features in Vogue, Grazia and Yen, Gabrielle and Shannon – as lovely as they are skilled – have a lot to look forward to… and so do we. Especially me, with my two new pairs of Tom Gunn babies I picked up that night – photos to come.
