• palm springs

Hey guys, firstly thanks for all the new followers across all the sites and social media platforms we have going on – and more so for the great comments latey.

So here’s something I almost let slip by, shot at one of the gardens at The Parker in Palm Springs. A contrast to my regular all-black attire (the past few posts also follow suit), I thought it was quite fitting for the place we were staying, and for Cali in general.

I love the intensity of the pink knit – I mean it’s really, really pink. The bag I’ve worn to death especially on this trip. The shoes I haven’t really worn out yet apart from this shoot. The gold cuffs and white sunglasses set it all off. My last style post I wore sunglasses by Andy Wolf – this one is Thierry Lasry, another label I’m loving at the moment, kind of a smug find. I am addicted to both brands, nothing else like them here. Thierry’s designs are handcrafted entirely in France and are completely logo-free, a big part of his design ethos, yet remain very distinctive among his strong following.

I have a few more posts from L.A so keep an eye out!

  • mimco season 2:2012 campaign bts

Now the shots you’ve been waiting to see and we’ve been dying to post – the Mimco Season 2:2012 campaign behind-the-scenes.

The secret’s out! The stunning (and amazingly down-to-earth) Jessica Gomes, famous for her curves features in the upcoming campaign. The idea was to feature someone strong, sexy and independent – qualities that Mimco are synonymous with and who better to model their range than Jessica.

In an upcoming post, I’ve dived into Jessica’s wardrobe and personal style – so stay tuned. While in LA, Jessica and her partner Sebastian have been amazing hosts, sharing their favourite places and getting a resident’s perspective of LA, instead of jumping on those tourist buses. Which was great!

Meanwhile, thanks to Jesse’s creative eye, he’s captured some of the best BTS shots. The crew were amazing – truly world-class, with Mandy Walker (Red Riding Hood, Australia) in charge of cinematography and Melbourne’s James Geer as the photographer. An experience never to forget, especially working alongside names as such – and of course, assisting the talented Cathryn Wills – who also designed the wardrobe for the shoot.

Close to 40 degrees celsius (and even hotter in the desert location), the team worked hard to produce some truly incredible images with professionalism and brilliancy. The lead up, 5am starts and sweltering hot weather was all worth it.

We look forward to seeing the final images of the campaign – I’m sure judging by these shots (although two or three are from the iPhone), you will love them.

HUGE thanks to Mimco for having us on board, such an awesome opportunity and experience.
