Black on Black on Black

Back to black and lots of it. Beginning to feel the winter chill, I went all black on black on black, experimenting with lengths, layers and textures. never one to compromise keeping warm in times of cold weather, I was excited to pull out an all black ensemble – and even more excited when i received this gorgeous bag from one of my leather goods label crush of the moment – Kzeniya.

I received not only this versatile piece (my new favourite day bag), but a couple of other styles that I’m dying to shoot, including a holographic clutch and a studded clutch. Kzeniya‘s designs are one of the most unique yet wearable, each piece hadcrafted individually and really making a mark. Kzeniya‘s latest collection is also to die for – I strongly suggest you bag fiends check it out!

Another favourite I’ve been meaning to wear is this Glassons coat – though I hate winter I love that I can now wear long and awesome coats like this – and also, lots of leather of course. You know me.

bad to the bone

Me and my bones.

You’ve seen me wearing some pieces from emerging jewellery designer/maker and taxidermist Fionnbharr Pfeiffer during LMFF this year, and the gold rib cage from Mecurialist that made it into the current issue of Spook Mag. The obsession returns with some pieces from one of the most talked about and admired jewellery labels in Melbourne, who I’ve often mentioned in many previous posts – it’s Mettle Fair Trade. If you haven’t heard of this eco-friendly, conscious and ethical brand yet then you’re missing out on some amazing designs and the chance to contribute to a good cause.

It’s eco-luxe jewelry at its best; created from recycled bombshells and lucite in a humble community in Cambodia and Indonesia where artisans are respected, supported and as the end users of their products, are celebrated for their craftsmanship and abilities to transform an otherwise unwanted bombshell remnants into beautiful pieces of art.

A new favourite that you’ll probably see me wearing a lot (especially with the season of exposed arms on its way) is this gold bone cuff from Mettle’s latest Fifth Element collection. Replicating the ulna (forearm bone) with each band totally malleable to fit any arm, it’s deceivingly light(ish) and easy to wear.

A few other favourites and pieces yet to post are the Hydra fluid earrings and forearm stacking bangles – both of which used in an editorial I recently styled that will be released soon.

The Fifth Element is my favourite and arguably the strongest collection yet by designer Brianna Hallihan, elegantly shot with local model Ana Kingsley effortlessly posing underwater.
