Now the shots you’ve been waiting to see and we’ve been dying to post – the Mimco Season 2:2012 campaign behind-the-scenes.

The secret’s out! The stunning (and amazingly down-to-earth) Jessica Gomes, famous for her curves features in the upcoming campaign. The idea was to feature someone strong, sexy and independent – qualities that Mimco are synonymous with and who better to model their range than Jessica.

In an upcoming post, I’ve dived into Jessica’s wardrobe and personal style – so stay tuned. While in LA, Jessica and her partner Sebastian have been amazing hosts, sharing their favourite places and getting a resident’s perspective of LA, instead of jumping on those tourist buses. Which was great!

Meanwhile, thanks to Jesse’s creative eye, he’s captured some of the best BTS shots. The crew were amazing – truly world-class, with Mandy Walker (Red Riding Hood, Australia) in charge of cinematography and Melbourne’s James Geer as the photographer. An experience never to forget, especially working alongside names as such – and of course, assisting the talented Cathryn Wills – who also designed the wardrobe for the shoot.

Close to 40 degrees celsius (and even hotter in the desert location), the team worked hard to produce some truly incredible images with professionalism and brilliancy. The lead up, 5am starts and sweltering hot weather was all worth it.

We look forward to seeing the final images of the campaign – I’m sure judging by these shots (although two or three are from the iPhone), you will love them.

Hello Cali

Hello from LA! It’s been over a week since the last post. Thought I’d run a quick update on the trip, and to confirm that we haven’t disappeared – we are well and truly alive and OK.

Since landing in Cali last Tuesday much has happened – from discovering the vast and expansive lands of California, staying in a luxury resort in Palm Springs, working with a very high profile team on an on-location campaign shoot (and I mean, some important names I’ll mention later on), to returning to LA and catching up with the beautiful and genuinely down-to-earth Jessica Gomes, experiencing what LA has to offer from a resident’s perspective, and catching up with celebrity stylist Sophia Banks-Coloma – I’ve so much to tell and images to upload.

LA lives up to its name and reputation, whether good or bad, I’ll leave it up to your interpretation but from our experience, it’s one big awesome place, putting into perspective the size of our hometown Melbourne and the differences in culture and lifestyle. And from what we’ve seen and done, I really could consider us locals in the near future.

So we are now armed with an artillery of photos to show exactly what we’ve been up to, working backwards – from our stay in Hollywood then a journal of the Mimco Season 2:2012 campaign shoot.
