One of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done was cutting all my hair. A year ago, having half-shaved, hip-length hair I never thought I’d enjoy having the exact opposite so much until I tried it. And tell you what – it’s the most liberating thing.
Hair plays one of the largest roles in appearances; I feel my hair right now is the perfect compliment to all my outfits, creating this mix of strong, masculine and feminine look only achievable with this hair cut. I’ve always loved the androgynous look, wearing clothing that were never overly feminine or pieces that were unisex and/or over-sized – but always adding a slight feminine touch, like matte red lipstick or some nice chunky jewellery.
Put simply – I freakin love short hair. Especially being a bottle blonde. So many ask if I’ll ever grow it back to its former lustrous length. And the answer for the moment – probably not. I don’t know, who knows. But I do know I’m loving it far too much to even consider it; it’s allowed me to view things differently in terms of fashion, and experiment with androgynous dressing – as per my look here.
Possibly all my favourite things all rolled into one – leather biker jacket, wearing black, white, layers on a cold day, statement accessories and heels. It’s not too masculine (although the blazer is actually a mens blazer), and it’s not too feminine – I think it’s the perfect balance.
