Back online. Feels like a while since doing one of these, but the past couple of weeks have kept us pretty busy. Jesse shot and I styled an editorial last week for a Melbourne based magazine, with a crazy galactic/ghetto/Miami/sporty kinda vibe, which we’re just a little excited to release once published. Details to come.
Meanwhile, I’m trying to deal with my obsession with anything neon/citron/fluoro/hi-vis. A normal person would stop at one or two small pieces. But not me. The more the merrier, throw it all on at once without being too crazy. So I did.
And maybe I’ve been feeling inspired by our recent shoot. Maybe it’s the dreary and temperamental Melbourne weather that calls for a burst (or several) of neon against a relatively gray day. Or maybe I’m just totally obsessed with this phenomena of hi-visibility inclusion in outfits that I couldn’t resist.
Anyway I needed a beanie update, so I ended up with the exact one I used for the shoot I styled. The neon clutch is of course, by one of my favourite knitter Megan Todd from Knots and Knits. Also in cobalt – check it out here. The iridescent, golf ball-like textural thing peeking out of the clutch is my little souvenir from Colette when we went to Paris last year. The cuff I stumbled upon recently by Emma Sadie Thomson, from her self-titled accessory label. The Adelaide-based designer nails it with her had crafted creations, each piece limited and use the highest quality materials sourced locally, while employing her background in architecture to create some really amazing pieces of jewellery from cuffs and earrings to neck pieces and even clutches. Check it out some time.
